LUCKINSlive Website Enhancements February 2014

05-02-2014

We are pleased to announce a number of enhancements we have made to the LUCKINSlive website:-

New tabs in Product pages

Previously product details, downloads, news, related items and so forth were on one page which required scrolling down the page. Now heading "tabs" are available which can be clicked to show the different kinds of information:-

New tabs in Product pages

The new headings cover:

  • Product Details
  • Downloadable Assets (if available for this product, for example product PDF's, videos, etc.)
  • Related Items (other products related to this product)
  • Product News articles
  • BIM Library (Building Information Modelling library: if available for the product, provides a link to Building Data/SysQue data and downloadable 3D objects, e.g. Revit and AutoDesk)
  • NES Clauses

This means Product pages work like the tabs on Manufacturer profile pages, and the tab headings make clearer what information is available. It also makes way for other new sections we have planned for the future.

Within each tab the product Description and Catalogue Number are repeated at the top to make it clear which product is being viewed.

Product Downloads changes

Originally the Downloads on Product pages were shown in a simple format. Now they are shown in a new separate Downloads tab and with more detail:-

New product downloads tab and item details

Originally any 3D CAD Objects available for download were shown in the Downloads section. These have now been moved to the new Building Information Modelling Library (BIM Library tab):-

In future releases the BIM Library tab will be used for additional object types and more specialised BIM related information.

New Product 360 Animations service

Amtech now provides a new service to Manufacturers to create rotatable 360 degree views of selected products that would benefit from this kind of display. Please contact us if you are interested.

The Product 360 Animations will appear in the main product details tab as shown below. You can click the various buttons in the interface to rotate, zoom, pan and magnify the product image. Also you can Play the product features slideshow which highlights special or notable features of the product.

Link to Building Data website

Some Manufacturers provide CAD objects and other data types via the Building Data website and SysQue services at http://www.building-data.net.

If manufacturers let us know about their membership with Building Data, we can set their profile to show the Building Data logo underneath their own business logo, for example:-

Building Data logo indicates this manufacturer has data at the BD website

Additionally a link to the Building Data website will be shown within the new BIM Library tab in the Manufacturers profile:-

Link to download SysQue data from Building Data website

Clicking the link opens a new browser window showing the Building Data website, where Building Data members can log into their BD/SysQue account.

Registration and member details are controlled purely by the BD website – LUCKINSlive does not store this information.

Note: This BD/SysQue link does not appear in the Product pages BIM Library tab.

BIM Library downloadable assets (Manufacturer level)

Manufacturers are now able to request Amtech to add BIM Library objects at the manufacturer level, e.g. 3D objects file types such as Revit and Autodesk files can be shown in the Manufacturers profile (and other types will be added in the future).

As described earlier, 3D objects can already be stored at the Product level, but as there are often very few of these they can be difficult to find, so this is why we now allow 3D objects to be shown at the Manufacturer level where they can be more easily found/showcased as shown in the lower half of the following screenshot:-

Conclusion

Those are the main changes for this upgrade to the LUCKINSlive website. Please feel free to contact us or email luckinslive@amtech.co.uk if you have any questions, or you would like to make use of the new features.
