Domestic Mould Removal

In early 2025, one of our very own team members revealed that she had been undergoing some renovations of her own. The project had been progressing quickly and effectively, however the removal of a fitted wardrobe unit uncovered the presence of mould.

At first, they didn’t know any mould was present. They removed a fitted wardrobe unit and uncovered the mould. It had formed as the result of moisture being trapped against the outer brickwork, due to a wisteria plant. On the other side, the wardrobe suffocated the inside wall, allowing the damp to fester and become a mould issue.

An infrared panel heats a room by emitting heated rays in all directions, and they repetitively bounce off objects, walls and people. As more infrared rays come into contact with a surface, the fabric takes on the heat to create a thermal store. When a convection radiator circulates air around the room, all the moisture in the air is pushed along with the heat but far infrared is a different type of heat. It doesn’t push air around, so there is no moisture to circulate, meaning that pure heat is fired directly into an object, therefore heating it up and drying it out.

Whilst Far Infrared cannot cure the source of a mould issue, it can help to remedy the aftereffects, which is what our new Mould Remover is designed to do. In this instance, the wardrobes were removed, and the outside wisteria plant cut down to allow the brickwork to dry out and breathe again. We then installed a 450w MREM S far infrared mould remover 20cm away from the wall.

We applied the standing brackets by tightening them to the floor and ceiling and used the adjustable fixings to raise the mould remover itself to prioritise the area with the most significant buildup of mould.

For routine drying, the ‘MREMS’ and ‘MREMXL’ mould removers both come with an inbuilt controller that will let you set the times to turn on, how long for and what temperature to keep the surrounding area at.

After 3 weeks of using the Mould Remover, the damp and mould dried. Once cleaned off with a mould remover spray, there was no evidence the damp or mould had ever been there, allowing the bedroom to be redecorated.
