Case Study - Harpars Bar

In late 2023, we were contacted by a wholesaler partner to assist one of their customers to provide a smart, infrared heating solution for a popular social spot in a historic Lincolnshire Market town.

The Bar’s old gas central heating system was struggling with the demands of the business and the large open-plan spaces, and so they were looking for a modern, energy-efficient solution.

Due to the wall décor and low ceiling heights, finding suitable mounting places wasn’t as straightforward as other applications. Wall mounting was not a suitable option as there was a lot of artwork, bespoke wallpapers or seating booths which filled the available spaces.

Being in a historic town, the property was also historical, with characterful low ceilings and features. This meant that whilst ceiling mounting was a possibility, this would make the ceilings appear lower than they already were.

One of our Account Managers was able to provide a couple of options, with the clients deciding on our Vector range of bar heaters. These heaters are designed with the commercial sector in mind; they can heat large spaces quickly and efficiently, and their slim profiles mean they don’t take up a lot of space.

The Vectors were also a good option as this Bar combined a shabby chic aesthetic with industrial features, leaving some copper pipework exposed for an overall steampunk vibe so they fitted this aesthetic well.

We agreed with the clients that the bar heaters would be mounted along the tops of the walls and angled down into the spaces. This meant the walls would be kept free, and the ceiling heights weren’t reduced.

To control this system, we recommended our Epsilon hardwired programmable thermostat. These controllers offer full controllability with time and temperature settings, but also offer the convenience of WIFI app control. This means the owners can control and regulate the Bar’s heating remotely.

We asked the Bar owners for their feedback, and they said, “Well we are very happy with the heaters, so much so that we have had our gas supply completely disconnected!”
