DOLD RK3070 Hybrid Relay
30-04-2026

Need to switch high inrush loads without shortening relay life?
The RK3070 hybrid relay from the POWERSWITCH series is designed for switching highly inductive and capacitive loads while reducing wear and extending service life. It is particularly well suited to applications such as LED lighting, energy-saving lamps and switch-mode power supplies, where high inrush currents can place significant stress on conventional relays.
Reliable switching for high inrush loads
The RK3070 combines electromechanical and semiconductor switching in a single compact device.
Pulse signal diagram

Alongside the electromechanical output relay, a triac is connected in parallel and switches at the zero crossing of the mains voltage.
Continuous current is then carried by the relay contact, minimising power loss for load currents up to 20 A in a compact, reliable design.
This hybrid design enables the RK3070 to switch high inrush currents without contact bounce or arcing, significantly reducing mechanical wear. The result is high switching endurance, lower maintenance requirements and a longer service life than conventional switching solutions.
Why hybrid technology matters
One of the main advantages of the RK3070 is its ability to combine controlled switching with low heat generation. The triac supports switching at the critical moment of energisation, while the electromechanical relay carries the continuous load current with its low contact resistance. Compared with conventional semiconductor relays, this helps keep heat dissipation to a minimum.
For users, this provides a more efficient and robust solution for demanding loads, particularly where frequent switching cycles or high inrush currents would otherwise reduce relay life.
