New Electric Water Heating CPD Course from Redring

08-10-2013

Leading manufacturer of showering and hot water solutions, Redring, has launched a new CPD on Electric Water Heating and Part G Regulations.

The new course will provide an in-depth look at the type of water heating options available including vented, unvented, direct and indirect heating. Each solution is explained in detail, covering the advantages and disadvantages as well as the requirements for each type of water heater. This includes advice on suitability for differing installations and applications.

The course also looks at how water usage can affect shower performance, such as how turning on taps elsewhere in a property can increase the temperature of a shower by up to 7 °C. The section also covers what solutions are available to combat these everyday problems. This primarily focuses on the benefits of thermostatic showering technology, as well as an overview of BEAB (British Electrotechnical Approvals Board) Care Mark approved products. The BEAB mark is awarded to showers that prevent hot water scalding and provide safe water temperatures – making them ideal for care environments.

In addition, the CPD discusses in detail the legislation that surrounds these solutions. In particular this focuses on Part G of the Building Regulations, and how legislative changes will have an effect on projects where water heaters are required. This covers cold water supply, water efficiency, hot water supply and systems, sanitary convenience and washing facilities, bathrooms and kitchens and food preparation areas. This section also looks at how Part G covers the safeguarding of vulnerable groups from the risk of scalding.

The CPD courses can be held at Redring Xpelair Group’s dedicated training centre, or at the work premises of the participants.

Redring Xpelair Group has more than 45 years experience in the manufacturing of showering and water heating solutions for a variety of applications.
