Super Rod Simplifies EICR Testing
25-09-2026
New from Super Rod is the SRMLTK Magnetic Link Testing Kit – a two-in-one testing solution designed to help electricians carry out EICRs with greater speed, accuracy and less disruption to consumer units.
Developed for electricians and contractors carrying out initial verifications and EICR inspections, the kit brings together two purpose-built magnetic link leads in one organised, professional kit, housed in a transparent pouch with a carabiner that keeps all your testing accessories visible and within easy reach on site. The links provided with the kit are removing the need to disconnect conductors from carefully dressed boards during continuity and insulation resistance testing.
Both products were invented by Wayne Draper, an electrical engineer and assessor who identified the problem through years of assessing Inspection & Testing qualifications and set out to build a smarter way to conduct EICR testing, being fully – fully in line with current BS7671 standards.
"A smarter, non-invasive solution built directly from contractor feedback."

What’s in the Kit?
SRR1R2 – R1R2 Link Lead: Smarter Continuity Testing
The SRR1R2 allows you to link R1+R2 at the consumer unit without disconnecting any conductors – making continuity testing less invasive and reducing the risk of damage, particularly on EICRs. The PZ screwdriver bit design increases contact surface area, guaranteeing no more than 0.01Ω of additional resistance. The magnet sits behind the bit, not at the tip, keeping it out of the circuit entirely for accurate, reliable results. Two probe types are included: a red PZ2 probe for MCBs and a yellow PZ1 probe with a longer shaft for RCBOs and AFDDs with deeper recessed terminals https://super-rod.co.uk/r1-r2-link/
SRIR – IR Link Lead: Insulation Resistance Testing Without the Hassle
The SRIR is a high-strength magnetic link for insulation resistance testing of Line and Neutral to Earth at 250V DC on RCBO protected circuits. Particularly those with sensitive equipment such as USB sockets and LED lighting. Connecting directly to the Line and Neutral screw terminals, the IR Link brings both into a single banana socket – one lead links Line and Neutral, the second connects to the earth bar, leaving both hands free to operate test equipment. No conductor removal, no dismantling of consumer units. Fully compliant with BS7671:2018+A2:2022 and IET Guidance Note 3, Chapter 2.6.7, and CAT III rated for professional safety https://super-rod.co.uk/ir-link/
Kit Pouch – Convenience: All Your Testing Accessories In One Place
Electricians carry multiple links and test leads on site. The Super Rod transparent single-zipper pouch keeps them all organised, safe, and instantly accessible. A reinforced transparent side panel lets you see exactly what’s inside, and the carabiner attaches conveniently to your bag or belt.
*Warning: The R1R2 Link & IR Link is not for use on live installations, distribution boards should be safely isolated and locked off before use. The links should never be used where live parts are accessible.
