The OSRAM SubstiTUBE T8 Connected G2 in combination with LEDVANCE's new generation of Connected Sensors enables professional wireless light management for parking garages, for example, without additional need for programming or rewiring.

In order to meet the most modern requirements, just like the shopping centre of the same name located on the top of the parking garage, LEDVANCE provided this car park with an entirely new Connected lighting system at the request of BAM Bouw en Techniek, and in collaboration with LichtService Nederland BV.

“The choice was made on the  Connected system from LEDVANCE, existing of OSRAM Connected LED tubes and LEDVANCE Connected Sensors. The reason for this selection is the ease of installation, energy efficiency and low costs at maintenance intervals of up to 6 years because the LED tubes can be easily replaced,“ explained Hans Smit of LichtService Nederland BV.

Installing conventional systems with motion sensors in car parks is often a complicated and costly task. This is because cables for rewiring or DALI cabling have to be laid and there are usually no cable ducts. Moreover, a separate control unit is often required for the sensors.

OSRAM SubstiTUBE T8 Connected LED tubes installed in LEDVANCE Damp Proof Housing are controlled wirelessly via LEDVANCE Connected Sensors based on the ZigBee 3.0 Open Standard Protocol. One of the advantages is that it´s only necessary to replace existing tubes and starters with the new LED tubes and starters, and to install and power the sensors. Thanks to the cool white colour of 4000K, parking space is much more visible, afterwards. Another advantages as zonal dimming, presence detection and daylight setting, the intelligent system of SubstiTUBE Connected tubes achieve significant energy savings compared to the conventional fluorescent lamps installed previously. With sensors at various inputs, the Connected LED tubes can be automatically switched on to full brightness as soon as someone enters the parking garage and until then need only illuminate at 20% of their full brightness. Partly due to the application of LEDVANCE Connected Tube system the light is not unnecessarily running at 100% brightness all the time as the garage is open 24 hours a day.

Parking garage Hoog Catharijne is the perfect base for a day trip to Utrecht. LEDVANCE provided this car park with an entirely new Connected lighting system at the request of BAM Bouw en Techniek, and in collaboration with Lichtservice Nederland. The result: more light, more safety and more efficiency.
