Industry leading Nissan plant returns to Rolec

The Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) plant in Tyne and Wear, one of the most productive in Europe, has installed further Rolec products – this time selecting from the WallPod: EV CommercialCharge range.

The multiple 32amp WallPod: EV CommercialCharge units installed at the factory, where among other popular models the Nissan Leaf is manufactured, are being used to charge electric vehicles as they come off the production line. The plant is renowned for producing more 'cars per worker' in Europe than any other factory, last year reaching a figure of over half a million vehicles.

Nissan has previously awarded Rolec’s charging points its prestigious ‘Nissan Charging Compatible’ certification. Rolec’s WallPod: EV CommercialCharge range has been specifically designed for charging EVs in commercial locations - such as offices, factories, restaurants, hotels and sports venues. The charging units provide customers with low-cost wall mounted full Mode 3 EV charging to suit every EV on the market today.

News of this supply of WallPod: EV CommercialCharge charging points follows closely on from the same Nissan factory choosing to install Rolec’s Industrial Combination Units for machinery to use at the site.
