Browns Hotel

The lighting has been significantly improved at the luxury 5-star Browns Hotel in London by installing Megaman’s 7W candles and 6W GU10’s, which have been used to replace the existing lamps. Browns Hotel opened in 1837 and is one of London’s most established hotels. Set in the heart of Mayfair on Albermarle Street, the hotel is owned by The Rocco Forte Group.
The hotel was looking options to reduce its environmental footprint and chief engineer Darren Macleod wanted to find energy efficient alternatives to the existing 50W GU10 and 45W candle lamps that were already being used in the hotels reception and corridor areas. The new lamps had to have good light output and excellent dimming capabilities, as the lamps are dimmed in the evening to enhance the overall ambience of the hotel
In discussion with local electrical supplier CEF, West End, it was agreed that the Megaman lamps would fit the criteria laid down by Browns whilst actually offering increased light output, excellent life expectancy and all the dimming capabilities required.
Darren Macleod commented “We are very happy with the results of the lighting refurbishment for Browns. The Megaman lamps have created an environment that is very efficient, reliable and far more environmentally friendly."
