Transit Motors Ltd. is one Europe foremost car manufacturers, currently employing over 5,000 staff members in the UK alone. They currently operate a large vehicle factory in Southampton, UK, and have chosen to convert to LED fittings for their lighting needs, using one of V-TAC’s distributors in South Hampshire, in early 2014.

The main requirements of the project were:

• To reduce their current spends on lighting from 40% (of the total electricity bill), down to 20%
• To qualify for an interest-free loan from the Carbon Trust (partnered with Siemens)
• To reduce unnecessary lamp replacement frequency within their facility, which normally operates for 365 days a year.
