Scolmore achieves ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation
17-02-2017
Scolmore Group is delighted to announce that it has been successful in upgrading its ISO 9001 certification to the new International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015. With only 15% of UK companies having applied to transition from the old standard when it was introduced in September 2015, Scolmore’s decision to update to the new system early, demonstrates a continued commitment to remain at the forefront of developments in their industry and sets them apart from competitors.
The company’s early transition to the standard, ahead of the September 2018 deadline, provides a number of key benefits for both the business and, in turn, customers. Certification to ISO 9001:2015 provides assurance that Scolmore has evolved its management system to meet the growing needs of its customers and other key stakeholders.
Awarded by certification body NQA, ISO 9001:2015 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million certificates issued to organisations in 178 countries. ISO 9001 provides a framework and set of principles that ensure a common-sense approach to the management of an organisation to consistently satisfy customers and other stakeholders. In simple terms, it provides the basis for effective processes and effective people to deliver an effective product or service time after time.
Heather Wiggins, Systems Manager at Scolmore Group, comments, “This achievement has been very much a team effort, with the involvement of people from across the organisation and support from the senior leadership team, enabling a smooth transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015.
By staying ahead of the curve, Scolmore is sending a clear message to all customers, both current and future, that it is taking a leading and proactive approach to quality management.”
The awarding body responsible for Scolmore’s accreditation is NQA - a leading global independently accredited certification body, providing assessments (audits) of organisations to various Management System Standards since 1988. NQA is part of NTS, the leading independent provider of environmental simulation testing, inspection and certification services in the USA. NTS serves a broad range of industries, including the civil aviation, space, defence, nuclear, telecommunications, industrial, electronics, medical and automotive markets.
