Isolating Switch Solution

Hager has launched the market’s first 20A Double Pole Switch with Isolation functionality.

The new isolating switch, available across Hager’s entire Sollysta range, allows electricians to choose the most appropriate switching solution for the required application through its ability to offer both functional and isolation options.

The new switch is independently certified and compliant with BS EN 60669-2-4, meaning it is fully certified as an isolation device as identified within the wiring regulations BS 7671.  

The current edition requires that devices used for isolation shall be of the type for which the isolation function is explicitly recognised by the relevant product standard. For switches selected for functional switching only BS EN 60669-1 is deemed appropriate, but if the switch is elected for an isolation function, then the appropriate standard for compliance is BS EN 60669-2-4. 

The new 20A Double Pole Switch with Isolation functionality provides electricians with a unique market solution, delivering installation flexibility, guaranteed performance and total compliance with the current rules as seen in the wiring regulations.
