ABB launches Protecta Power panel board

Protecta Power is ABB‘s latest generation of panel board, integrating the latest digital monitoring and control technologies. Protecta Power ensures stable and reliable power distribution, and enables smart electrical distribution within commercial, institutional, infrastructure and institutional buildings.

By integrating the latest smart moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) such as the Tmax XT with in-built digital communication, protection and control, Protecta Power provides flexibility to meet key requirements for a wide range of facilities. With optional remote monitoring and accurate sub-metering, it also allows remote downloading of consumption and billing data.

Kevin Lenton, ABB’s UK Product Marketing Director for Smart Buildings explains further: “As the power distribution cabinet at the top end of ABB’s Protecta family of products, Protecta Power is designed to provide flexibility and intelligence across electrical distribution systems. Integrating smart devices and enhancing mechanical segregation inside the panel has advanced our offer to customers.”

With improved connectivity and flexibility, including enhanced mechanical segregation, and customisable layouts, Protecta Power enhances ease of use and durability, while meeting requirements of Form 4, types 2 and 6 under the BS EN 61439 safety standard. Furthermore, Protecta Power provides incoming and outgoing current ratings of 800 Amps (A) and 630 A respectively within a compact footprint, completing the ABB Smart Buildings portfolio to provide everything from grid to switch.
