LED Lighting and the Environment

LED lighting is now the go to solution for any modern lighting project, and it makes a lot of sense.
LED lights have great environmental benefits. LED bulbs can be up to 80% more energy-efficient than conventional bulbs and waste far less energy too.
Energy is produced only by transferring one form of energy into another. For ordinary (incandescent) light bulbs 100J of electrical energy is transformed into just 5J of light, the remaining 95J is transferred into heat energy. Electrical energy lights the filament within incandescent bulbs at a temperature of around 1100°C therefore, because a heating process is required to create light energy this method of lighting has become inefficient compared to modern methods.
