Street Lights that are Made In Britain

Manufacturer and distributor of commercial and industrial lighting, NET LED Lighting, has started production of LED street lights at its Cambridge facilities. Fifteen different models of the high-functionality Histon Range are being manufactured in a brand new, dedicated clean room which was part-funded with a grant from Growth Works, which supports growing businesses across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough “to plan for bigger, scale faster, and stay ahead of the game.”

This is part of NET LED Lighting’s ongoing strategy to relocate the production of more LED lighting back to the UK. The company has already moved the manufacture of its entire range of over fifty metal and polycarbonate-cased LED bulkheads from China to Cambridge; a move which has been welcomed by customers and has generated employment for the region.

NET LED Lighting has partnered with component supplier Tridonic, using their bespoke LED driver designed specifically for LED street lighting solutions. The advanced Tridonic technology has a built-in Virtual Midnight Function which allows for pre-programmed energy saving events, including automatically dimming the street light for a period at the mid-point of sunset to sunrise, saving more electricity. These drivers also have 10KV surge protection and a 100,000 hour life span, ensuring reliability and ongoing energy saving for years of use.

The Made In Britain Histon Street Lights also incorporate a specialist lens for improved uniformity and larger light distribution and are available in three colour temperatures and five different power outputs (30W-130W) to suit all applications including roads, walkways and car parks. An optional photocell sensor can also be attached to further reduce energy costs and ensures that the street light only comes on when required.
