16-05-2022

Solihull Community Housing

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) runs the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. Its portfolio includes around 10,000 tenanted homes, 1,000 leasehold properties, 5,000 garages and 100 temporary accommodation units. Dodd Group has been SCH’s electrical contractor for almost 10 years and has an established partnership with NVC to supply internal and external lighting for a range of applications. This includes emergency lighting for the communal areas of its flats, sensor-controlled street and car park lighting and lighting for kitchens and bathrooms in domestic settings.

Alongside the thousands of standard NVC fittings that Dodd Group’s team has installed in SCH’s properties, NVC has also developed customised fittings including its Preston IK10, IP54 rated LED halo effect circular bulkheads that were modified to hold at 10% for safety and security in corridors.

Paul Davies, Dodd Group’s Partnership Manager for SCH says: “NVC is one of our preferred lighting suppliers for many reasons. Where possible we like to work with local companies so being based in Birmingham is a great advantage. More importantly their technical knowledge and the support we receive is excellent. This combined with the high value and performance products they supply, backed by superior warranties make it a fantastic partnership. Because we like their products and their service so much, we have installed NVC light fittings in our head office and throughout our business too as part of our ongoing carbon reduction strategy.”
